We checked into our regal hotel in Krakow around 7pm, had a group orientation tour, enjoyed a traditional Polish meal followed by a string trio concert, and took a blue hour stroll on our own through Krakow's Old Town.

Our morning started with a three-hour walking tour. We saw a sculpture depicting Eros, the Greek god of love and desire, a portrait of Pope John Paul II who had been Archbishop of Kraków, a 3-D rendering of the Church of St. Francis with description in Braille and St. Mary's Basilica, a masterpiece of Polish Gothic architecture, and the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi with stained glass windows and floral murals by Stanislaw Wyspianski. Afterwards we stopped in a few shops and bought some snacks then headed back to our rooms for a siesta.

In the evening we took the tram to Oskar Schindler's Enamel Factory and saw the museum's permanent exhibition entitled "Kraków under Nazi Occupation 1939-1945". We then found a nice restaurant right next door, took the tram back to the city center, had ice cream, and took a horse and carriage ride to the castle and back.
